People now research services through Google AI results, ChatGPT, Copilot and other answer tools as well as traditional search. I help UK businesses make their website easier to find, understand and verify across those journeys. This work sits alongside organic SEO, not in place of it.
Answer engine optimisation (AEO) means making pages answer real customer questions clearly. Generative engine optimisation (GEO) means making your business and its evidence easier for AI-assisted search systems to interpret and reference. Neither term describes a guaranteed route into an answer or citation.
Pages that answer buying questions
I start with the questions people ask before contacting you: who a service suits, what is included, where you work, how the process runs and what affects price. I compare those questions with your service pages and useful guidance. The result is a short list of pages to clarify, expand or connect, with clear next steps for visitors. The aim is useful answers, not blocks of text written only for a chatbot.
Technical access and page meaning
I check whether important pages are available to relevant crawlers, return the right status, have clear canonical URLs and are linked from the rest of the site. Where appropriate, I review structured data against facts visible on the page. Markup can help describe a page, but it cannot make an answer engine cite it. A technical SEO review covers deeper crawl or rendering problems when they appear.
Business facts and evidence
Your name, services, service areas, contact details and author information should agree across your website and profiles you control. I identify conflicting or unsupported claims and suggest evidence that helps a reader assess your experience: relevant projects, methods, dates, examples and clear ownership of content. Independent mentions can help people discover and check a business, but publishers decide whether to feature it.
How the work is measured
First, we agree which enquiries and customer questions matter. I record a baseline from your pages, Search Console and analytics, then track changes to relevant landing pages, organic visits and qualified enquiries. Where AI referral data or answer appearances are visible, I review them as supporting observations. AI systems change their answers and often provide limited reporting, so I do not treat a one-off mention as a reliable performance measure.
A repeatable AI answer review
For a scoped review, we agree a fixed set of buyer questions and record the exact wording, date, location and platform. I run each question twice on each agreed platform, save the answer and cited URLs, and record three separate outcomes: whether the business is named, whether its website has a clickable citation, and whether the answer describes the service accurately. The denominator is all completed answers, including those with no mention. I also check that the cited or expected pages are crawlable, indexable, internally linked and supported by visible facts. The same questions and recording rules are used at the next review; a changed answer is an observation, not proof that one website edit caused it.
Example from this website: Search Console recorded 894 impressions for Google's generative AI feature across 12 July–11 October 2026. That is a dated visibility observation, not 894 citations, answers, visitors or enquiries. A separate answer review would report its own count of completed questions, mentions and clickable citations; it would not combine those counts with Search Console impressions. Search Console and answer tools have different coverage, personalisation and reporting limits.
You receive a prioritised plan, page recommendations and implementation support. We review the results and adjust the pages that need more detail or clearer evidence. This can be a focused project or part of an ongoing SEO programme.
Can you guarantee that ChatGPT or Google will cite my site?
No. Each platform chooses its own sources and answers. I can improve the clarity, accessibility and evidence of your pages, then measure the outcomes we can observe.
Do I need a separate AI-only website or special file?
Usually not. Your main service pages and their supporting evidence are the priority. A machine-readable file can help document key URLs, but it does not replace accessible pages or guarantee inclusion in AI answers.
How is this different from your AI search articles?
The AI search articles explain the subject. This service applies the checks to your business, prioritises changes and supports delivery.
Start with your most important service
Tell me which service you want more qualified enquiries for and which questions customers ask before buying. I will suggest the smallest useful review and explain whether your first priority is content, technical SEO or both.
