Advertising work starts with the offer, audience and action you want people to take. The brief then identifies the channels, campaign tasks and responsibilities needed for that project. Discuss a new campaign, an existing account or a specific advertising problem with Phil Carr in Barnsley.
Discuss advertising requirements
Start with the campaign requirements
Bring your website address, the product or service being advertised and any existing campaign information. Explain where you want advertising to appear, the areas you serve and what happens after someone clicks. Access to an existing account helps establish what is already running and which changes need approval.
The proposal records the selected platform and whether the work concerns campaign preparation, setup, review or ongoing management. Platform suitability and available access need checking before a particular channel or task is included.
Agree the work and its boundaries
An advertising brief needs decisions about the audience, targeting, campaign structure, ad copy, creative assets and destination pages. It also needs a named person who can confirm the offer and approve publication. Existing campaigns may require investigation before changes can be specified.
Landing-page design, photography, video, tracking implementation and changes to the website are separate tasks to identify. Where a new destination page is needed, review website design. Content for unpaid social posts belongs within the social media brief, rather than being assumed part of campaign management.
Accounts, spending and approvals
Before work begins, record the account owner, billing arrangements and access permissions. Identify who can authorise advertising spend, the agreed limits and who must approve a change. Access to manage a campaign does not replace the need for an agreed spending instruction.
Ad copy and creative need an approval route before publication. The business supplies or verifies product details, availability, conditions and supporting evidence. Any platform review is a separate decision; approval or continued delivery cannot be promised.
From brief to review
Agree what will be measured, how tracking will be checked and when reporting is needed. Define enquiries or other actions carefully, including who checks their quality. Recorded campaign activity does not establish that every enquiry or sale came from advertising.
Review the setup
Review the offer, existing setup, access and destination pages.
Record the campaign tasks
Record the campaign tasks, assets, permissions and approval responsibilities.
Prepare for approval
Complete the agreed preparation and obtain publication approval.
Check and review
Check the published setup and review the available measurements against the brief.
